Semi-Permanent Eyebrows & Eyeliner

The excess pigment will start to secrete out of the skin which you will notice within the first 12-24hrs this will act as a protective layer for the skin thats open and healing underneath. During this time its important you apply a thin layer of Bepanthen or PawPaw cream 3-4 times a day and a thick layer while showering to keep them water resistant. Your brows wont be completely waterproof so it is a good idea to wash your face at a basin so you can control going around your brows. Once the exfoliation has finished your skin will still be healing, our skin is naturally translucent but when its healing it can appear cloudy and opaque this will diffuse the appearance of the tattoo pigment underneath and at this point you might be a bit disheartened that the pigment hasn't healed as well as you would of liked it too. Don't fret! the skin will go back to being translucent 7-10 days after the exfoliation and you will then be able to see the true colour of the tattoo healed underneath the skin. The TouchUp appointment will finalise the pigment colour and overlap hairline to create dimension and perfect the tattoo.

No cleansers, makeup, swimming, spas, or direct water on the area until peeling has finished. It is absolutely necessary to keep applying cream to keep the area moist so the pigment doesn't exfoliate off too soon from drying out.

It will be 2-3 weeks before the true colour appears and becomes translucent.
For some clients it is perfect, others it may be too light, or patchy in some areas. If this is happening you are able to apply colour until your scheduled top up.

  • Apply Barrier cream I recommend Bepanthen or PawPaw Cream, 3-4 times daily.

  • Avoid getting them wet while showering, only if necersary apply Vaseline to waterproof (unavoidable swimming).

  • If the skin is itchy DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH instead apply cream.

  • Some people, depending on metabolism will experience more exfoliation than others.

  • Exfoliation is part of the healing process, do not worry.

  • Exfoliation usually takes 4-6 days

  • The colour underneath the brows will at this point appear to be much lighter in comparison to the pigment which is coming off.

  • The eyebrows will take 7-10 days to fully appear after the peeling has finished.

  • Sunscreen is advised to protect the brows from fading.

Semi-Permanent Lips

  • Immediately after the treatment lips will be slightly swollen and tender and colour will appear much darker than the one chosen during the consultation.

  • Apply the Bepanthen cream constantly to keep the lips moist. The cream will help with soreness as well as holding the colour in. If you do not apply enough cream the lips begin to tighten and pigmentation will come out.

  • Please do not pick – they will exfoliate on their own.

  • No hot drinks or spicy foods for the first day, no lipstick, kissing or direct water for the first few days.

  • The lips will exfoliate quickly after 3-4 days.

  • Full lip treatments do take longer, usually a week before the swelling and flaking has finished.

  • Please do not be worried if you loose colour as you can lose up to 80% the first time.

Cold Sores

  • If you have ever had a cold sore, even only one in your life, you will more than likely breakout. This is caused by stress on the lips. Precautions that maybe taken one-week prior to treatment are:

  •  Lysine tablets from the Chemist

  •  Zovirex Cream

  • Doctors Prescription of anti viral medication

The above are only precautions and cannot guarantee you will not breakout as the Herpes virus is always present in your system
